“We are the clear leader in aviation in Central Europe. We have demonstrated fantastic turnaround in the last decade,” said Milczarski. In the last three years the airline has almost doubled the number of planes from 44 to 80 and the number of routes from 41 to 104. The carrier has carried 9 million passengers last year, compared to just 4.3 million in 2015, he said.

Talking about the potential traffic on the route, Ray said that they will work with travel trade partners who service the corporate clients in the market to tap the business segment along with the leisure traffic to Europe. “We hope to service a lot of trade fair traffic which goes to destinations like Berlin, Hannover, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, etc. which are not directly connected today,” he added. “We will work strongly collaboratively with travel trade which we understand is key in markets like India,” he said, when asked about the sales strategy.
